Road Trip
July 4, 2025
I wrote this song for Mackenzie, my girlfriend-turned-wife, over a decade ago. Our love for road trips has only grown since. Inspired by Ryan Trahan's 50 States in 50 Days, I finally released this song (and some others) to all major platforms. Mackenzie and I are still living our adventure—coffee in hand. Thanks Ryan, you are officially a part of this story.

Girlfriend - EP
July 4, 2025
Mackenzie and I met working at a frozen yogurt shop, and this album captures our early years together. Road Trip (song 1) is about our adventures; I Want To Be With You (song 2) was written during our long-distance days; Run Away With Me (song 3) is the song I played after she said yes to my proposal; and Drive Safe (song 4) is self-explanatory if you listen.

Bio
Colten Krauter is an independent singer-songwriter based in Montana. A husband and dad of four, he writes honest songs about love, faith, and real life. Growing up in Maple Valley, Washington, his house was always full of music—listening to it, playing it, writing it. He learned guitar at age 10 and picked up drums a few years later.
Raised in a musical family, Colten watched his parents, Lance and Susan, write and record music in their home studio. From there, he began writing songs, tracking demos, and learning the craft hands-on. He wrote and recorded frequently through his late teens and early twenties, capturing songs that were personally meaningful but never saw a full release until 2025.
Some of his recent releases, like Road Trip and Jesus Saves, were recorded over a decade ago. They now reflect a long journey of love, faith, and finding meaning in the everyday.
In May 2025, after being laid off from his role as a Software Engineer at Starbucks, Colten found unexpected inspiration. Watching Ryan Trahan's 50 States in 50 Days series, where he and Haley road trip across the country, clinking coffees, sharing genuine moments and spreading joy, sparked something. It was a reminder that life's too short to keep your art hidden away. That inspiration pushed him to finally publish his music to major platforms and get back in gear creating new songs.
All songs are written, performed, produced, and recorded independently by Colten Krauter in a home studio.
